In the following, two relevant figures that are world famous and that have had a major impact on Europe and the rest of the world shall be presented:
Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhio, referred to as Mother Theresa, (* 27.8.1910 in Skopje, † 5.9.1997 in Calcutta) was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her activities since 1946 with the poor and dying people of the slums of Calcutta. In the more than one-century-old history of the Nobel Peace Prize only one other Albanian woman was awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize for her achievements.
Emperor Justinian (* 482, †565 AD) was born in Illyria. He ruled the East Roman Empire between 527-565 AD. It was already in 530 AD that the works on the Digests were initiated in the eastern empire. Based on 2,000 writings of allegedly 39 classical Roman jurists 9,142 excerpts = 50 books are compiled (45 of which are dedicated to the topic of civil law). Tribonian and 16 other jurists compiled the Digests.
Handwritings were handed down from the 6th and 11th centuries.
This code of law and other writings that were based on it considerably influenced the tradition of Roman law in Europe, as well as Celtic and Germanic common law and subsequent codes of law.
